Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend and are ready to make the most of the last week of June.

I’m getting in touch today with a quick video update to discuss some headlines that caught my attention this past weekend…

First, Sunday’s episode of 60 Minutes featured a segment on deep-sea mining. Huge robotic machines are dropped 1,500 to 6,000 meters to the ocean seafloor to mine metals such as nickel, cobalt, lead, and rare earth elements for use in the renewable energy and battery storage industries.

There are estimated to be trillions of dollars’ worth of minerals on the ocean floor. But who has the rights to those resources? I discuss that in the video and highlight some of the companies most heavily involved in the mining process.

Second, climate protestors made quite a scene during the weekend’s PGA golf tournament, and that got me thinking about investing in energy. This is a trend I’ve followed and recommended for years. But I believe one strategy in particular is key to maximizing your returns in this space.
